A 15-year-old girl has been stabbed and robbed at gunpoint early this morning at Amanfrom in the Ga South Municipality in Accra. The area has been a climax for robbery over the weeks, forcing the Accra regional police commander to visit the area just last Monday.
The 15-year-old girl, a JHS graduate, was leaving her house at Amanfrom heading towards the Kasoa market” to go and shop.
When she was about arriving at the main Amanfrom junction, two suspected armed robbers, fired gunshots in the air and ordered her to handover her handbag but she failed to do so. Because she was repelling, they stabbed her in the arm, took her bag and hurried off.
This happened at the Amanfrom ICT center, barely 20 meters away from the Amanfrom Police station, an eyewitness narrated. The 15-year old is currently receiving treatment at the Amanfrom health post. However, it is likely she would be transferred to a larger hospital due to the extent of the injury.
There have been a series of reported robbery attacks at Amanfrom in recent times, residents are to be very watchful and careful.
